Best Cordless Drills 2015

It is once again time to resolve a question a lot of readers and users of power tools is asked: I am looking for a new cordless drill, what do you suggest? Never too many new versions within 10 months from the last year’s Best Cordless Drills 2014 the roundup, but the new wireless exercises, I’ve been using and testing has affected my recommendations enough to warrant a full update.

Only 9 types of descriptions of last year. This year, there are 9 categories and 15 items. Sorry, I can be a bit hesitant, but hopefully the categories are added to make the decision to buy from you.

In the past few Best Cordless Drills sweep, Milwaukee was the first choice of many types. This is one thing that has not changed since last year. M18 and M12 engines Fuel wireless Their brushless still simply the best services among large professional-grade brands.

As with other articles of recommendations, all based on my interests and what I feel is the best wireless drills and drivers from among those who have tested and used. If you want to suggest a specific model to consider for next year, please let me know in the comments.

BEST 18V: MILWAUKEE M18 FUEL 2603

The Milwaukee M18 brushless fuel drill / drivers, model 2603, was my first choice for the third consecutive year. It is powerful, but not bulky. Pair it with a M18 compact lithium ion battery, and that is compact. Exchange that for a compact battery extended battery XC capability and you’ll get plenty of time to run and greater torque thanks to Milwaukee’s “XC effects.”

This is one of my favorite episodes, and perhaps the most recommendable for anyone looking for top efficiency.

EDITOR’S CHOICE 18V: BOSCH DDS181

Bosch is a wire DDS181 drill boring (pun not intended). No bells or whistles favorite, and it is not brushless. Despite these things, the DDS181 is what I used for drilling holes and driving screws, at least when I do not tested on other models.

It offers good performance, and to take statements. There are applications that just do not have enough power to strengthen, even with a torque rating of 600 in-lbs, but that’s part of the balance exercises with lighter and more compact.

If you want the latest and greatest, test drilling and controls brushless Bosch line. But if you want a solid performer that will not break the bank, Bosch DDS181 not disappoint.

EXTREME TORQUE 18V: MILWAUKEE M18 FUEL HOLE HAWG

When you need to blast holes, and many of them, and you want to do it safely, you may want to step up to the new Milwaukee M18 Fuel Hawg hole, which is said to bring performance records like.

Hawgs two new holes, designed both for the electrician. A super Hawg hole, designed for the needs plumber and for drilling larger holes, is in the works this year. The Hawg hole 2707 with a “metal chuck, while the 2708 loss with keyless Quik-Lok Hawg 7/16” hex vacuum chuck 1/2.

RUNNER-UP EXTREME TORQUE 18V: BOSCH ANTI-KICKBACK DDH181X

Heavy DDH181X Brute Tough Drill 18V features the latest Bosch technology enabled meet safely cut power to the tool as soon as the sensors detect that a little or accessories have caught up during drilling. By doing so, the tool stops before drilling can counter rotate enough to create a dangerous situation.

When you are drilling with larger drill bits or longer, exposed to a sudden screws, nails, marriage, or other object little noise, can be dangerous. If a bit to bind or jam, all the rotational energy is transferred to the drill, which will meet with your hands and rotate your wrist with it until the pressure on the trigger is laid tomorrow. BEST COMPACT 18V: DEWALT 20V MAX DCD790

DCD790 brushless 20V Max Drill / Driver Dewalt has not been included in the recommendations of last year. The prototype was late, and I do not think roundup need another category for best compact cordless drill.

The big DCD790 at me, and there is a new competition in the compact high-performance drill field. This is a solid model representation including all of an excellent drill – a comfortable grip and convenient, and a large proportion of energy to the size (and weight). Runtime is pretty good too, as a standard for brushless tools.

No, DCD790 will not impress your friends, but it is a recommendable compact drill / driver for light and medium duty drilling and driving tasks.

RUNNER-UP BEST COMPACT 18V: MILWAUKEE M18 COMPACT BRUSHLESS 2701

Compare Dewalt 20V Max DCD790 and new M18 compact brushless 2701 Milwaukee drill / driver is no easy task. Both are wireless drills are capable of, but I’m in favor of Dewalt move better hair.

You want to buy on-line Dewalt 20V Max, or Milwaukee’s M18? The answer to that should be your deciding factor.

This model provides better performance and run time, but it lacks some of the advanced features of the set of Fuel Milwaukee. It does not drill brushless of the poor, but instead positioned as an intermediate in the middle artist brush updated model of the brand and model of brushless their premium fuel.

Compared with the brush drill Milwaukee M18 motor (2606), the 2701 offers comparable torque (500-lbs) in a smaller package.

BEST BUDGET 18V: BOSCH COMPACT DDB181

DDB181 compact Bosch 18V drill / driver is an ingenious beast. It means a basic cordless drill, but it is also extremely compact and lightweight. It’s not as powerful as any 18V-class professional-grade primary drilling else mentioned here, but it is worth much smaller and still have the ability to handle less demanding tasks.

I’m not in love with the grip of DDB181, but it’s not obtrusive or uncomfortable either. The grip just was not as contoured as I’ve grown accustomed, but it does not taper a bit from the gearbox to the battery.

Last holiday season, many retailers have sold DDB181-02 (2) battery pack for only $ 99, which is an extremely cheap. Its price is higher now, but maybe it will drop back down to Father’s Day and the winter holiday season.

RUNNER-UP BEST BUDGET 18V: HITACHI DS18DSAL

Ministry drill / driver DS18DSAL Hitachi 18V is oh so ugly, but it’s comfortable and well performing tool of its size. If not seem to bother you, rest assured that there are very few exercises better wireless for money. If the engine has a compact wireless best drill brush category, DS18DSAL will be in the shortlist for top honors.

SPECIAL MENTION 18V: DEWALT PREMIUM 3-SPEED DCD990

In head-to-head between Milwaukee and Dewalt 20V Max DCD990 2603 fuel M18, I like the Milwaukee. But that’s not to say that DCD990 not recommendable, because it is. I never was a fan of high-end 3-speed file Dewalt, because they have a tradition of large, bulky and heavy. This one, with brushless motors of it, surprisingly compact – compared to the previous generation of 3-speed drills – without sacrificing any speed or power applications.

One of this year, DCD990 can overthrow the Milwaukee M18 Fuel drilling wire from its status as the best overall wireless drill / driver, but not this year. At least, I think that the attitude of the Milwaukee overall is much better, especially when the auxiliary handle must be attached.

BEST AUTOMOTIVE: INGERSOLL RAND

12V cordless tools Ingersoll Rand tools in the top 5 of my new favorites in the list in 2013, because they are great performers and meticulous design. I was very impressed with the IR, and recent experience has only built on this.

D1130 IQV12 Ingersoll Rand 3/8 “wire drill drill is great but can also be used outside the automotive shop. It is lightweight, compact, and provide good energy. It lacks some of the reviews shadow of the building services professional brands’, and it is not quite strong, but it should provide greater chemical resistance and impact protection.

New drilling IR Max D5140

Shortly after the best cordless drill roundup introduced last year ended, I get a new model of Ingersoll Rand that I put to the test – 20V Max D5140 their drill strings.

New drilling IR, as well as other tools of their wireless, is robust and designed specifically for automotive use. Even stubborn case of the drilling wire 20V D5140 is designed for automotive professionals. I think the new services of Chicago Pneumatic look very attractive, but do not see them in person. There are also a lot of the services of the automobile brands of other tools, such as Snap-on, MATCO, and ACDelco.

BEST 12V: MILWAUKEE M12 FUEL 2403

M12 fuel driving brushless Milwaukee drilling of vertical well above competing brands, and not just because of the more efficient engines. Just check out the drilling and technical drivers M12 to see what fuel I mean.

In addition to well governed state, providing fuel M12 drilling torque of the highest I’ve seen in a drill 12V-class, and it is chuck 1/2″. Most 12V-class exercises are designed to slightly smaller and sometimes duty 3/8″chucks.

On top of all that, the drills are compact and lightweight. It’s shown here in combination with the capacity to expand M12 XC 4.0Ah Li-ion battery, but the standard set also comes with a compact 2.0Ah battery. This gives you the flexibility to choose between a minimum size and weight or the maximum run time, depending on what the day job calls for.

RUNNER-UP 12V: BOSCH PS32

I really like the PS32 12V brushless Bosch drill. But … I like better Milwaukee. While Milwaukee focused on the power and premium features for their fuel M12 drill, Bosch focused on size and seem runtime.

The PS32 is a very small drill bit, but it gets the job done. If there is a task that you considered a mandate for an 12V drill-compact class, PS32 can do it.

BEST BUDGET 12V: BOSCH PS31

Although Bosch PS31 12V drill has been out for over half a century, it remains an excellent model. good move (although not as good as the model of their new brushless), balance of power, size, weight, and a low price make a great budget option. 2-battery kit is currently being sold for $ 99, which is hard to beat most of the year.

The PS31 continues to be a great value, and sometimes it is available as part of the L-Boxx Bosch discount toolbox bundle around Father’s Day and the winter holiday shopping season.

RUNNER-UP BUDGET 12V: MILWAUKEE M12 2407

I suggest the 2407 Milwaukee M12 drill / driver in a best drill for DIYers posts, and also in a previous drill and screw the best combination for homeowners and woodworkers posts. So why is it only the second in 2407 here?

In the holiday-buying big stuff and some other times of the year, the combination is $ 99. Right now, it is $ 129. Not that $ 129 is not a good price, because it is what you get, but $ 99 is better.

The 2407 is a solid performer and also serves as a cheap entry into the M12 cordless power tools line of Milwaukee. It’s not as good as the model M12 spec’ed Fuel Milwaukee, but it does not benefit from having a similar attitude.

If both Bosch and 12V-class brushed motor control kits Milwaukee’s compact drilling machines have been sold for $ 99, my proposal would give Milwaukee. MORE RECOMMENDATIONS

And all the other brands?

RIDGID X4 drill / driver is the overall runner-up for the best in 2013, and remains an attractive model. However, it does not really hold its own against new offerings Milwaukee, Bosch, Dewalt and. The new RIDGID 18V Gen5X drilling may be an improvement, but I have not seen it in action. Right now only a jackhammer Gen5X available, as part of a combo and it features an integrated “Chuck Light” worklight that looks like it toes the line between innovation and gimmicks LED.

Ryobi and Craftsman both continue to provide wireless drill pretty, but you must be careful as to which one you buy. Their drilling ranged from “perform worse than a compact 12V Drill” to “excellent performance and maximum bang for every buck.”
